Participate in a collegiate gymnastics program while focusing my collegiate studies on a career in the medical field specializing in sports medicine and athlete rehabilitation.
My name is Bailee Espelien. I am a level 10 gymnast at Red River Valley Gymnastics Club in Grand Forks, ND. I have been a pre-team and preschool recreation coach at my gym for the last three years.
I am a senior at Red River High School in Grand Forks, ND with a 3.85 GPA and attained a 26 on my ACT. I will graduate in 2014. I carry an extremely aggressive course load and I am very dedicated to my studies. I have strong leadership skills, am extremely dedicated and hard working.
I have been able to demonstrate a unique balance in my life that most people strive for. I train aggressively in gymnastics, maintain an excellent academic record and maintain relationships outside the gym in my spare time. I enjoy listening to all kinds of music on my Ipod, attending the University of North Dakota Hockey games, jumping on our trampoline, swimming/tubing, rollerblading and hanging out with my friends.
Weight: 110 lbs
I have two brothers, one older and one yonger. My father owns his own business and my mother works at the Altru Rehabilitation Center in Grand Forks.
During the 2012-2013 season I suffered an ACL injury, thus ending my competitive season in January 2013. I had surgery and my ACL is stronger now than it was before. During the time that I wasn’t competing I pursued continuing education through USAG and I am proud to say that I received my Safety Certification as well as my USAG junior pro membership for coaching. This allowed me to attend the Regional Competition not only as a cheerleader for my teammates but as their coach.
