Mission Statement

To organize and implement fundraising activities, as well as assist Red River Valley Gymnastics in the promotion of gymnastics to Grand Forks and the surrounding communities, and financially assist competitive team and Acro team activities.

Purpose

Funds raised will be used to assist in the reduction of expenses incurred by those Booster Club members whose athletes are expected to compete in meets, special awards, special events, or requests that occur that are not the direct financial responsibility of Red River Valley Gymnastics.

Organization Structure

The Booster Club, as it will be known, will have an Executive Committee that consists of a President, Vice- President, Secretary, and Finance Committee, and its membership shall consist of all RRVG parents or guardians of pre-competitive, competitive and Acro team gymnasts. The Booster Club will have a board of Voting Members made up of representatives from the various RRVG teams. The Booster Club will be a part of RRVG, Inc. and will operate under its tax identification number. The Booster Club will manage a separate checking account to receive deposits and make disbursements. Signatories will
be from the Executives Committee.

Booster Club Responsibilities

1. Inform the RRVG, Inc. management of any event to be held or service to be provided.
2. Provide assurance of continuity with RRVG, Inc and that the event is safe and promotes the club in a positive way.
3. Work with RRVG, Inc. to ensure the adequate training and coverage is provided for each event.
4. Recruitment and scheduling of volunteers for planned event.
5. Accountability for monitoring of income and expenses and reporting to the business office.
6. Establish marketing campaigns for fundraising or promotional events.

Should an event or service sponsored by the Booster Club lose money, it will be the responsibility of the Booster Club to absorb those losses as well as any financial repercussions that may result from an activity.

Section I Structure

•RRVG Booster Club operated in conjunction with Red River Valley Gymnastics.

•This organization shall operate as a non-profit organization.

Section II Purpose

•To provide financial and moral support to the members of the RRVG competitive teams and Acro

•To help host RRVG team meets.

•To provide for fund-raising opportunities to help defray the cost of team competitions and Acro team expenses.

Section III Membership

•Membership includes all families of pre-competitive gymnasts, competitive gymnasts, and all Acro team members.

•Annual membership fee will be $25.00 per gymnast for competitive gymnasts and Junior and Senior Acro gymnasts and $10.00 per gymnast for pre-competitive gymnasts and Little and Kinder Acro with a $50 family maximum.

•Membership benefits families in getting to know one another and by giving support to all the gymnasts at different levels for competition.

Section IV Finances

•The fiscal year of the club shall begin on the 1st day of September and end on the 31st day of August in the following year.

•All Booster Club profits (fundraising, etc) will be distributed as follows:

1.  85% of all profits will go to the General Fund.
2.  15% of all profit will go to the Regional/National Fund.

Section V Benefits

•The Booster Club General Fund will contribute to the following competition expense:

1.  Coaches expenses to all meets.
2.  Other items as voted on by the Voting Members.

•The Booster Club Regional/National Fund will contribute to the following expenses:

1.  Coaches expenses to Regional and National meets
2.  Gymnasts’ stipend for travel to National meet.
3.  Other items as voted on by the Voting Members.

♦Actual amount contributed to the above expenses will be determined by the Voting Members based on available funds.

♦Achievement Club-Any gymnast can earn and receive a one time award per year if they receive a score in excess of 9.0/10.0 (or equivalent achievement) in any one competitive event or for mastery of a new skill for Acro team.

Section VI Membership Requirements

•All Booster Club families are responsible for participating in the yearly fundraising efforts.  Families are required to sell at least $100.00 in fundraising items, to be divided equally among either one or two fundraisers per year. Families who do not meet this minimum will have their gymnasts account charged accordingly.

•All Booster Club families will be asked to donate one (1) case of water/soda, or a dozen(12) baked goods for home meets once per competitive season. These items should be clearly marked with the name of you family and be dropped off at the gym the day prior to the meet. Families who do not contribute items will have $10.00 charged to their gymnasts account.

Section VII Voting Members and Executive Committee

•Each team shall have three Voting Members on the Booster Club Board.

•The Executive Committee of the club shall consist of a President, Vice-President, Secretary, and Finance Committee (2-3 members). These officers will be selected from the Voting Members.

•Elections are to be held at the Annual Meeting of the general membership in October of each year.

•All elected positions shall serve a one year term, commencing with the Annual Meeting.

•Nominations will be accepted and voted on by the Voting Members by a majority rule.

•The elected group of officers is hereafter called the Executive Committee.

•Resignations: If a Voting Member’s gymnast leaves RRVG, the Voting Member will
resign their position immediately. If a Voting Member resigns at any time during their term, they must submit a written resignation.

•Vacant Positions: If a position becomes vacant due to a resignation; that position will be filled at the next Booster Club meeting. The newly elected Voting Member will fulfill the remainder of the vacated term.

•A quorum of Voting Members will be required to have a Booster Club meeting and vote on any pertinent business/agenda items. A quorum will be defined as a simple majority of the three Voting Members per team.

•The President will preside at all Booster Club meetings and act as the liaison to RRVG Inc. officials. The President, or his/her designee, will have one vote on the Board of Directors of the RRVG.

•The Vice-President will work with the President to oversee and organize all Booster Club activities. In the absence of the President the Vice-President will preside over any Booster Club meetings.

•The Secretary shall keep minutes of all Booster Club Meetings, and distribute meeting minutes to all Booster Club members. In the absence of the President and Vice-President, the Secretary shall preside over any Booster Club Meetings.

•The Finance Committee shall receive all monies of the Booster Club. They shall be
responsible for posting all monies, and keeping an accurate accounting of all receipts and distributions. The Finance Committee shall report to the Voting Members at each monthly meeting. All bills, upon arrival, shall be paid by check.

Section VIII Committees

Committees shall be formed annually by the Voting Members in response to current needs. In particular, committees will be formed to fulfill the work requirements at the meets hosted by RRVG and for fundraising. All committee chairpersons shall present a verbal report at the club meetings as needed.

Section IX Meetings

•Booster Club meetings shall be held monthly, September-May. Date, time, and place of each meeting shall be posted at RRVG. A monthly meeting may be cancelled at the request of the Executive Committee.

•The Annual Meeting of the general membership will be held in October.

•Special meetings may be called by the President, or at the request of six (6) members.
Minutes of all meetings are to be kept and distributed to all Voting Members, posted at RRVG, and e-mailed to the general membership.

•Proposed changes to the Red River Valley Gymnastics Booster Club By-Laws must be posted for review by the general membership for a minimum of three(3) weeks prior to being put to a vote.
